Lately I do not hear my watch beep....I wear it from wake up to bed time each night and hear it twice on a typical day. I have become de-sensitized to the beep and therefore am not purposefully praying and seeking God throughout my day.
Today I'm asking God to help me hear the beep and to draw my thoughts towards His glory and purpose for my life and my day....hour by hour.

Vacation
I just returned from a nice 10 day trip to the Destin, FL area. I had my watch ding turned off most of the trip. I did lots of walking and swimming. I was ready to get back at it today though.
Watch is back up and running. God is good!

Catch up
I'm a little behind now in my log. I can tell you I have had days I didn't wear my watch or days I turned the beep off at night and forgot all day to turn it back on. I've felt disappointed in how my focus drifts from the Lord and how I can follow him each hour.
Today has been a good day. I'm excited about what God has for me and excited how he's using this challenge to bring me closer.
Pray without ceasing.

Busy day
I've been encouraged by my "Running Partner" Jon a few times via email so far. He's been reading and has a busy family life too.
Bottom Line
Today was quite eventful, and although I was not focused on Him constantly throughout the day, I'm encouraged by the time I did spend.

Update
Still going strong with the hourly ding from my Timex. Yesterday on our drive to Tulsa, I grabbed my wife's hand and prayed for God to lead us each day, help us to be mindful throughout the day, and to show us how we can glorify Him this hour.
Most of the time I find myself excited when I hear the beep. I immediately for a minute or two, turn my thoughts to Him. I will sometimes pray for a couple at church or for my family.
Reading the book is easy, just the time to sit down and focus is hard to come by. I'm only on page 30, but the stories have been encouraging so far.
More to come...

Intro to the 60-60 Challenge
This blog will track my 60 day journey. I have no goal or purpose other than to journal my thoughts during this journey. Today is day 4, below is a recap thus far:
Day 1: Sunday during our Adult Fellowship (Sunday School) class the concept of 60-60 from the Soul Revolution book was introduced to me. It seemed practical and during class I set my Timex watch to beep each hour.
Day 2: Monday I noticed right away the beep. Each time I'd say a quick prayer. Often thanking God for His unfailing love and reflecting on the verse that neither height, nor depth, nor anything else can separate us from His LOVE! I couldn't help but smile each hour.
Day 3: Tuesday, not only would I notice each hourly beep, but would also glance at my watch to see if it "was time" to think about God yet. I would just pray and reflect anyway. I was purposefully seeking God continually throughout my day.
What is the 60-60 Experiment? Here's info from the author at: http://www.soulrevolution.net/about.php
Starting the 60-60 Experiment:
For the next 60 days, try to stay in a continuous, honest conversation with God, willing to do his will moment by moment.
Set a watch or alarm to beep every 60 minutes, and put up sticky notes & reminders around your home, car & office, as a reminder to stay connected.
Try to turn your thoughts back to God all throughout the day, as often as you can. This simple conscious contact with God isn't easy, but it's all you have to do - everything else will begin to fall into place over time.
Even if you're not yet convinced this is true, try it. Every 60 minutes, stop and recall "God is with me right now..." and let that propel you to ask God "Show me your will this next moment. I want to be willing to do your will as an act of love toward you."
Begin the experiment and see if this isn't the path to a far more satisfying life.
